Our teams bring the latest portable sight testing equipment to each venue, allowing the optometrists to carry out full eye examinations in the comfort of residents’ own surroundings.
A full eye examination involves the optometrist making a thorough evaluation of the health of a patient’s eyes checking for such conditions as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Some patients will require referral to their GP or hospital for further assessment and/or treatment.
The optometrist will also be able to determine whether a patient’s glasses need updating and if so what type of lenses would be best advised.
It is important for everyone to have regular eye examinations, particularly the elderly who are most at risk from sight threatening conditions.
